NAVIS's a digital program to depict in a 3D space the connectivity network of the rat brain. This frist version was developed in the Prince Of Wales Medical Research Institue (POWMRI) in the laboratory of Pr. Paxinos in colaboration with EVASION team of GRAVIR laboratory (CNRS, INPG, INRIA, UJF). Each nucleus and subnucleus have been rebuilt in 3D using 2D diagrams. The program can display affiliations of each subnucleus selectively, through a specific graphics interface.

The first version of NAVIS is based on the Atlas of G.Paxinos & C.Watson, "The Rat Brain in Stereotaxic Coordinates" 5th Edition (2004) published by Elsevier Academic Press. This version presents only affiliatiions where the nucleus of the Solitary tract (Sol) is involved. Affiliated structures are included as well.
